ONE KANO AGENDA CALLS ON PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU TO REVIEW THE CONDUCT OF THE FCT MINISTER AND CONSIDER HIS REMOVAL

The leadership of One Kano Agenda, a socio-political movement dedicated to the promotion of justice, unity, and responsible governance in Nigeria, wishes to express deep concern over the recent conduct and utterances of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.

Our attention has been drawn to an incident which clearly portrayed the Honourable Minister in a manner unbecoming of a public office holder. His approach and public altercation with security personnel, coupled with his consistent display of arrogance and disregard for established authority, have not only embarrassed the office he occupies but have also brought humiliation to the image of the Federal Government.

As a senior member of the Federal Executive Council, the Minister is expected to demonstrate composure, discipline, and humility — virtues that reflect the character of the administration he represents. Unfortunately, his actions have repeatedly contradicted these principles and have sent the wrong signal to the Nigerian people, particularly the youth, who look up to national leaders for exemplary conduct.

One Kano Agenda firmly believes that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is built upon the pillars of integrity, accountability, and mutual respect among public servants. Any minister whose conduct undermines these values, or creates avoidable controversy capable of distracting the government from its developmental focus, should not continue to hold such a sensitive position.

We therefore respectfully call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to review the minister’s continued stay in office and consider his removal in the interest of national unity, dignity, and the moral standing of the Federal Government.

One Kano Agenda reiterates its unwavering support for the President’s vision of national transformation and good governance, and urges all political appointees to align their personal behavior with the values of humility, discipline, and service to the people.
